Democratising AI: The DPGA at the AI Impact Summit 2026

Author: Lea Gimpel, Director of Policy

The Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA) is heading to New Delhi for the AI Impact Summit from February 16–20!

As the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, this event marks a critical shift from theoretical frameworks to real-world impact. At the DPGA, we believe that Digital Public Goods (DPGs) are the backbone of an equitable technological future. As open resources, they are indispensable to the responsible development of AI solutions that advance human agency and positively impact people’s lives. By being open, responsibly designed, and transparent, DPGs provide an infrastructure of trust because they are held against the DPG Standard. This way, DPGs ensure that AI development is not just innovative but inherently responsible and equitable.
